Glint card controls

Glint card controls

Glint was created in part to restore control over money to individuals – to take it out of the hands of governments and policymakers. Fiat money – paper money – is in the hands of policymakers. They can create more paper currency at the touch of a button – as we learned in the years after 2008, and during the Covid-19 panic. Pouring huge quantities of paper money into society is the fundamental reason why inflation has spiked and is proving so difficult to bring under control.

By using gold as money to save or spend Glint gives clients greater control over their assets. We want to make sure that your account remains under your control. This is partly about security and eliminating fraud, and partly about building trust in us.

So no one at Glint will ever ask you for your PIN; you shouldn’t tell anyone else either. If someone does ask you for that, be suspicious and immediately contact and inform us.

You can freeze your card to prevent your account from being accessed, through the Glint app. To freeze your card (and thus prevent anyone else from using it) go to your Glint profile in the app. In the updated App you will find a button called ‘Freeze’. Click that to freeze your account, and click it again to ‘defrost’ it.

The ultimate step from any possible misuse is to block your account. If you want to block your account you will need to call us. If you block your account, you will also block your card. So please don’t take this step unless you are certain it’s what you want.
